Kings Park, Perth

Just a hop, skip, bridge crossing and longish hike uphill (the return was much nicer!) from the conference center was Kings Park, a nice green area within Perth. There was a lovely view of Perth from the park

Perhaps the most interesting thing about having just arrived in a new country in a different hemisphere was the variety of different flora to be seen. The park had nice walking paths and sections displaying different plants from different parts of Australia. Of course, I was so distracted by the pretty flowers, I forgot to note the names of the plants.

And of course, we saw some cool birds along the way!
