Freemantle

All good things must come to an end, and the end of ISBE 2010 was no different. It was an inspiring conference with many interesting talks, fascinating science and great times with friends and colleagues. However, after the conference, I had given myself some time to explore western Australia. I don't know when I will be back, and there are plenty of things to see and do! First up was a quick jaunt to Freemantle, a port city located on the mouth of the Swan Valley River. There was a fabulous photo exhibit called Prisoners of Age at the Freemantle Prison of life prisoners from the US and Canada and quotes from interviews that had been conducted with the prisoners. The stories and images were very powerful.
